Student competitions are another way students can gain industry experience, engage in networking opportunities and develop transferable skills. Some of these competitions have cash prizes and open doors to vacation work and graduate employment opportunities. It is also an opportunity to represent Curtin University and compete against the best university students across Australia and internationally.

DCM BlueLake Portfolio Competition
The DCM BlueLake Portfolio Competition is a sophisticated and challenging stock market simulator operating on real ASX300 data.
Deloitte Dream Team
Deloitte Dream Team is a long running, premier annual inter-university competition run by Deloitte Perth and is designed to benefit Western Australian university students. Students are put into university teams and take on a fictitious company profile and case study. The teams are challenged to solve realistic business problems and address scenarios to gain valuable real-life work experience.
Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia: Student Challenge
The Chartered Accountants Student Challenge invites second, third, fourth and final year undergraduate accounting students to solve a real-life business problem facing a not-for-profit organisation.

Business Icon® is based on a number of reality TV concepts all rolled into one including The Apprentice, Australian Idol, Amazing Race, Survivor and Dragons Den but with the education and positive learning philosophy behind Masterchef. This is a program where contestants are ‘chosen to go through’ and not one where they are eliminated.
